She graduated from UCC and subsequently completed her GP training with the Cork Vocational Training Programme for General Practice. In addition to her Medical Degree, Dr. Marea holds a Diploma in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and she is also a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Irish College of General Practitioners. She, along with Dr. Jerry moved to Kilbeggan in 1987 and has been practicing medicine here at Kilbeggan Medical Centre ever since. During this time, she has provided a holistic approach to patient care. Her areas of special interest include Women's Health, Sexual Health, Paediatrics, Care of the Elderly and Palliative Care. After studying medicine in Pakistan, she completed her post graduation in family medicine (general practice) and began her career working with the Irish College of General Practitioners. Dr. Syed further expanded her expertise by earning a professional diploma in Pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians Ireland. Currently nearing completion of her Master of Science in Public Health, she demonstrates a strong commitment to preventative care and population health. While her primary interests lie in pediatrics, Dr. Syed also possesses experience in aesthetic dermatology. She has further broadened her expertise through courses in trauma care, reproductive health (women's health), and diabetic care. Beyond her medical achievements, she finds joy in travel and spending time with her family.
